4 types of dresses you need in your party season wardrobe
It’s that time of year when Christmas do’s, festive catch-ups and birthday parties (for all you December babies out there) are starting to come up, and what better reason to air out those legs in a dress? As a tall woman, I know navigating the world of dresses can be a challenge, particularly when you’re trying to keep warm and get your sparkle on at the same time. Not to worry though- I’ve trawled the internet and picked out my top 4 styles of party dresses you NEED in your wardrobe for festive season, so sit back, relax and prepare to twirl the night away.
Those celebratory vibes when it’s almost Christmas
1) The mini dress
Cute, versatile and with a hint of ‘ooh la la’, it’s easy to see why the mini’s such a popular choice, especially during party season. I was gifted this gorgeous dress by Cameo Rose Clothing and love everything about it. Sure, it’s a little short (#TallGirlProbs), but it really does screams ‘festive’, especially when paired with the gold bow belt.

2) The midi dress
When it comes to party season, not everyone’s all about that leggy life, and luckily little miss midi’s got you covered… literally! Midi dresses are perfect for occasions that are a little more formal (like your work do), or even just for those times when you don’t fancy shivering the night away. Pair with a faux fur coat for a fabulously cosy finish to your outfit.

3) The maxi dress
Want to go for maximum glam with a classy finish? The maxi dress might just be the one for you. With its floor-sweeping hemlines, the maxi is ideal for those super posh parties and picking one with sequins is a sure-fire way of keeping all eyes on you. Go for one with a thigh slit or plunging back for an extra boost of ‘wow’ factor.

4) The ‘this ain’t a dress, but I’m still dressed up’
Love ’em or hate ’em, co-ords don’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon, and they’re the perfect thing for party season if dresses aren’t really your thing. The best thing about them is you kind of get two for the price of one ’cause you can mix ‘n match each piece with things you already have in your wardrobe! Yay for saving money, wardrobe space and the environment.

Once you’ve decided on a dress (or two!), all that’s left is to add some accessories. I finished the look of with a gorgeous embellished headband, added some simple gold jewellery, and stepped into the first pair of heels I ever bought (#FunFactAlert). Since co-ordination is my thing, I also grabbed a caged clutch bag to go with the shoes and really bring the look together.
