Diamonds and Pearls: How to nail party season fashion, for ladies who are more into class than sass! 💎💎

Sooooooo… I kind of started out the whole party season outfit series with a bit of a bang, which is great great ‘n all… but it’s not every day I’m feeling those sassy vibes. I’m the kind of gal who likes to keep ’em guessing when it comes to my wardrobe, so this time around I thought I’d share some tips on how to do partywear in cool, classy style! Pearls. They’re one of those things that instantly scream ‘classic style’, so naturally when I saw this beautiful Blue Vanilla blouse, it went right to the top of my Christmas wish list! With its delicate lace sleeves and pretty pearl detailing, this…

Check On It: How to make prints winter-worthy for girls who love a little bit of colour! 👧🏿💛

I’m sure I’m not the only colour lover who’s constantly looking for ways to inject some ‘bam!’ into my autumn/winter wardrobe… without it being too ‘in your face’. One of the best ways to do this? Go for poppin’ prints rather than solid blocks of colour, for a more subtle, laid-back vibe. In the words of Beyonce, when it doubt, ‘Check On It’… and since no one ever dares questions Queen B, I simply said ‘yes, maam!’ and put together an adorable semi-casual look, perfect for any fellow colour fan! To get stuck straight in,  I popped on this beautiful Cameo Rose check shirt. This is the one to end every. other. check. shirt. you. have.…

Black, White, and Splashes of Culture 🇳🇬💛❤️🇬🇧

I feel like I’m beginning to make a bit of a name for myself for being fashionably late for… well, pretty much everything. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll probably know that October was Black History Month, and there were so many amazing events across the UK celebrating Black history and culture in all its wonderfully colourful beauty. I was lucky enough to attend ‘Africa on the Square‘ for the first time this year and girrrrrl, let me tell you: it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. From fashion and music, to food and everything in-between, there was something for everyone… I even managed to find some vegan jollof rice, complete with…

    Twinning Is Winning 🙎🏿🙎

There’s nothing quite like that feeling you get when you and your girl turn up in matching outfits, but what’s even better is when you act like it’s effortless, but the whole thing was totally planned (don’t worry- I won’t say a word!) Since I started this whole blogging thing at the end of summer I’ve been riding solo, but this time around I thought I’d switch things up and collab with my lovely lil’ sis (cause twinning is winning, right?) As you’ll probably know, I’m all about that glam life, but my lil’ sis is more of a sporty spice, so we decided to meet in the middle with a…

    Starry-eyed 🌟🤩

This week we’ve had our very first cold snap, and not gonna lie- I may have got just a teeny bit gleeful when I opened my window first thing in the morning, and that crisp, fresh air hit me in the face… Aaaaaah. We may only just be into autumn, but if you’ve been keeping up with my posts, you’ll know that jumping the gun when it comes to transitional styling is totally my thing. Inspired by cooler temperatures and beautiful night skies (you know how the stars just seem so much brighter in winter?), I thought I’d put together a chilled look featuring constellation detailing and some gorgeous icy hues. I started…

    Layer Lovin’ 💛🌼

You know how I said I was over the whole mustard yellow thing thing in my last post and you totally believed me? No? Well me neither. The truth is, my love for this colour is going to be a lifelong thing, and can’t nothin’- not even a change of season come between us. Being fashionably late to the blogging world, there are so many of my summer looks you guys missed out on in SS18 (*sniffles*), so I simply gave up and stayed in bed with a bad case of the style blues. Just kidding! Your girl certainly ain’t no quitter, so while we’re waiting for winter (can it just hurry…

    Wild Thing 🐾🐆

From snakeskin and leopard to everything in-between, animal print has been pouncing up on catwalks everywhere for AW18 (miaow!) and naturally, I couldn’t help but put a little paw stamp on the trend myself. I will admit I’m not usually its biggest fan- while I can just about manage to rock a snakeskin boot or bag here or there, when it comes to taking all-round inspo from our furry friends, issa ‘no’ from me. So how to work around this style struggle? Add a little ‘rawr’ to a simple outfit with a few statement pieces, and bam! Just like that, problem solved. Now everyone knows that the first step to…

    Pin-up Prints 💋

Scarf print was one of my first loves when it comes to fashion, so I suppose it’s really no surprise that a small statement accessory inspired this entire look. It all started when I came across these beauties from Mango last year (I say ‘these’, but well… I’ll explain some other time), and my whirlwind romance with handkerchief hoop earrings began. Fast forward a few months, and the Mango pair (ahem) weren’t really doing it for me… but then I spotted these at Pull and Bear, and hello? Talk about a major upgrade! I absolutely love the primary colour palette on the ‘handkerchief’ fabric and wanted to keep the focus…

    Daisy Dream 🌼

So it may seem like summer is almost over, particularly in the last couple of weeks when Mr Sun has decided to be just a teeny bit anti-social. On days when he decides not to show that pretty face of his, I like to make my own pretend sunshine by wearing a little pop of yellow, and this daisy-inspired outfit was no exception. There’s something about daisies which I absolutely love; they’re the first that sign that summer’s round the corner when they start to bloom in late spring, and since the recent heatwave left the grass looking more like hay (RIP, flowers), I’d been dreaming of daisies and decided…

    Chambray Haze 👖 🌺

So I have an announcement to make: after a two year phase of trawling the nation far and wide, I’m pleased to say the search the the perfect jumpsuit is finally over (thank you, Dorothy Perkins!). I feel like every woman needs a chambray item in her wardrobe for the spring/summer months- it’s a loose, lightweight fabric which allows you to feign that classic light-wash denim look without the sticky second-skin feeling of wearing actual denim in the heat!   I fell in love with this piece because it combines two of my favourite summer trends: broderie anglaise and bardot necklines… plus for £19.50 in the sale I simply couldn’t…
