Twinning Is Winning ???

There’s nothing quite like that feeling you get when you and your girl turn up in matching outfits, but what’s even better is when you act like it’s effortless, but the whole thing was totally planned (don’t worry- I won’t say a word!) Since I started this whole blogging thing at the end of summer I’ve been riding solo, but this time around I thought I’d switch things up and collab with my lovely lil’ sis (cause twinning is winning, right?)

As you’ll probably know, I’m all about that glam life, but my lil’ sis is more of a sporty spice, so we decided to meet in the middle with a ‘glamty’ (a.k.a. half glam, half sporty) look! To start off, we kept things super casual and picked out this black striped tape midi skirt from Primark. You can find it in-store, or get a similar one here. I’ve been looking for a skirt like this for the longest time, so when I spotted it, I didn’t waste any time snapping it up! I really love the length- it’s perfect on my lil’ sis cute petite self, but also what I like to call ‘decently short’ on me; whether you’re a gorgeous glamazon, pint-sized princess or anything in-between, this is definitely one for you! I did find that it kept riding up and wandering into indecently short territory at times (#LongLegProblems) and the fabric isn’t the most flattering, but if your stomach’s on ‘flat flat’ and your booty’s on ‘what’s that’ (unlike mine), this probs won’t be an issue for you (you go, girl).

Since no look is complete without a little pop of colour, we picked out this red off the shoulder top from H&M. The bardot is by far my favourite neckline, but oh H&M… you guys have totally ruined it for me. I feel like this top could have been a winner… Pretty colour? Check. Comfy fabric? Check. Subtle ruffle detailing? Check. But what really lets it down? The quality. The fabric is super thin (I’m talking paper thin), and the fit is so skimpy that if you have anything going on up top that even vaguely resembles boobs, you can forget it. I had to make a few (ahem…) adjustments to avoid flashing anyone while shooting, so seriously… this top is CANCELLED. If you’re  looking at these pics thinking it’s poppin’, don’t be fooled sis-  save your coin. I won’t even show you what it looks like on me properly (trust me… issa mess), but I think we can all agree that my lil’ sis looks super cute in it!

Nothing says ‘effortlessly casual’ better than a biker jacket, so of course my sis and I had ours on hand! Simple but stylish, hers is of the classic faux leather variety, but it’s got this gorgeous stud detailing on the sleeves, similar to this one. Adding a few studs to a leather piece is the perfect way to add a bit of edge, particularly when you’re keeping the rest of your outfit on the simpler side! My faux suede variation isn’t quite as snazzy, but being faux fur-lined, it is super snug, which is great, since the autumn weather has finally decided to make an entrance (there’s nothing quite like being fashionably late, is there?) I bought my jacket from New look a couple of years ago, but I’ve managed to find its style twin here, so you can wrap up nice ‘n cosy too!

To finish off, we both slipped into our favourite black ankle boots. I wasn’t joking when I mentioned how I tend to wear the same few pairs of shoes repeatedly in my last post, so I’m wearing the very same ones featured in ‘Fur ‘n Forests‘ (you can grab them here!) These are the perfect balance of style and substance as they’re super comfy, so I feel like I kind of have an excuse for wearing them all the time– they’re ideal pair for everyday wear, so I think they’re definitely worth the price! My lil’ sis went for these sassy studded beauties, and with their low heel and super soft faux suede finish, these boots are totally made for walking!
