Breakfast at Tiffany’s: Festive outfit styling with Lady K Loves!

So, it’s been a little while since I last posted on here, and since Christmas is just round the corner, I thought I’d share a gorgeous festive outfit idea with you, featuring one of my favourite vintage brands, so grab a mince pie, take a sip of mulled wine and prepare to enjoy!

I’m usually more of a bright colours kinda gal, but this winter, I’ve been really feeling monochrome. I had the pleasure of working with the lovely Kessie from Lady K Loves a couple of months back, so when she offered to gift me some pretty vintage pieces, I was obviously over the moon!

When your favourite vintage brand gifts you some of their gorgeous pieces…

The first thing I picked out was the Aurora top – I’m a huge fan of bardot tops (or bardot anything, really) and the v-neckline is super flattering if you’re a broad-shouldered gal like moi. It looks divine dressed up (plus, it’s stretchy, so perfect for festive feasting), but I also picked it because it’s one of those pieces that’s easy to style dressed down too! Lady K Loves is a sustainable brand, and I’m all about picking pieces which you can really get your wear out of, so keep an eye out as Miss Aurora’s definitely going to be making an appearance here again!

Top: Lady K LovesNext up, to add a bit of feminine flair, I picked out the Darling skirt in black. Super twirl-worthy and with a contrasting ric rac detail, it was a match made in heaven with Aurora. I really love the flared 50s silhouette, and like the top it’s another one of those pieces that can be easily dressed up or down. It’s made from a lovely lightweight fabric, so it would be perfect paired with a pretty cotton blouse in summer.

Skirt: Lady K Loves (sold out in black, but still available in Khaki)Shoes to me can really make or break an outfit, so I popped on a pair of black pumps with a gold block heel. They’re nothing special, but I sometimes think less is more, particularly when it comes to classic outfits like this one. Fun fact: This was the first pair of heels I ever bought – they’re what inspired me to learn to love my height (in case you didn’t know, I’m 6ft) and now, you rarely catch me in a pair of flats!

Me, wistfully gazing at the shoes that inspired my self-love journey…Don’t know about you guys, but I’m the kinda girl who’s almost always cold and since bardot necklines do show a little skin, what better to complete the outfit than a fur stole? I actually made this one by sewing some black satin ribbon onto a fur collar I bought from New Look a couple of years back and I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out.

That sassy earring flick when you save money and the evironment by upcycling an old fur collar.

Faux fur stole: DIYed (similar here)On the subject of staying cosy, I also slipped on a pair of ivory satin gloves, paired with a pearl-encrusted clutch to really take accessorising to the next level. Okay, granted the gloves aren’t all that warm and *whispers* they’re actually hosiery gloves, but I just felt they added a little extra something to the look – dontcha think?

When your hands are chilly but you’re trying to do ‘fashun’.
Gloves: Wolford
Clutch: eBay (similar here)Not sure if it was just me feeling fancy, or whether it’s the fact that I recently watched the film for the first time (I know!), but something about this look was giving me ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ vibes, so naturally, I added a pearl brooch to my hair and did my best Holly Golightly impression. For some extra vintage glamour, I slipped on a simple pearl string and these stunning earrings, which I picked up from eBay (can you believe it?!) Because, to quote jackie Kennedy, ‘pearls are always appropriate’.
